Project Selection

As a designer and illustrator, I work closely with each client to understand their aesthetic, goals, and I make it a priority to successfully translate their unique message through elegantly organized design.  Though I sincerely I truly appreciate each request I receive, please understand that I take on a limited number of collaborations at a time, and select projects that will be compatible with my design aesthetic.

Communication

Other than a complimentary phone consultation (if requested and only offered to clients located within the U.S) all communication is done via email.  Based on experience, I find this to be the most effective form of contact.  As a client, please be sure to check your email regularly, seeing as we will be communicating frequently throughout the design process.  If I haven't heard from you in 30 days, your project will be considered closed.

Outside Materials & Limitations

If you'd like to incorporate stock photos and or other outside materials into your design or website, please ensure you have the appropriate rights / license to use such items before submitting them to be included in a design.  Cristina Martinez will not be held liable for legal repercussions regarding materials provided by clients.  By submitting an outside material you are agreeing that you hold the right or license to utilize the photo or item.  For website and blog design, please note that blocking all cookies may have a negative impact upon the usability/functionality and design of any website, therefore Cristina Martinez will not be held responsible for any issues that may arise due to the blocking of cookies.

Privacy & Permissions

All correspondence must be considered confidential and may not be shared or forwarded to others without my direct written consent.  Sketches, logo variations and other details may not be shared with outside parties. For marketing & promotional purposes including, but not limited to, use within my design portfolio, I reserve the right to share samples of work created for your project and brief description  and or links to your blog, website, or other project featuring the design.

Installation & Preparation

Before your blog or website can be installed, please be sure that you've set up all social network profiles or other websites that will be linked to your site.  It is highly recommended that you back up your existing template and any added CSS or Javascript before & after installation.  Errors may occur during installment which can be easily fixed if you have backed up your blog or site material.  Cristina Martinez will not be held responsible for glitches or loss of material due to the client failing to back up.

Design Files, Usage & License

When your project has been completed and all payments have been cleared, you will receive flattened files your final designs via a dropbox folder. Designs may not be altered, adjusted, modified, cropped, or changed in any way by anyone but Cristina Martinez.  Designs may not be re-used, re-purposed for other formats (such as a Facebook Header or Twitter background etc.), distributed in any manner (i.e  gifted, transferred, or made available for public use in any way.)   Extended licenses or full rights to custom designs may be granted on a case-by-case basis upon discussion, and will require an additional fee - please feel free to contact me for more information.

Access for Blogs & Websites

In order to install your design, I will need either your admin login information or for you to add me as a temporary administrator for your website/blog.   I suggest to temporarily change your password for the duration of the installation process/ project then change it to a password of your choosing once the project has been completed.   Please note that I do not offer support for any technical issue(s) that arise with a client's website, email, domain, redirection, DNS, site cookies or any other technical elements.  Nor do I purchase any domains, redirect new or existing domains or emails on the behalf of any client.   I am only responsible for designing what is described in the “fee summary” portion of the project contract.

Please Note

Please understand that my reputation for high quality custom design work is inherently implied on all materials and websites featuring my design.  Because of this, it is important that all design elements remain in their original condition, due to the risk (intentional or not) of a lower quality design, which reflects negatively on me as the designer, and possibly your brand as well.  If you'd like to change something, please feel free to send me an email, I'd love to help!
